Hosting a great pub quiz and night is one of the best ways of getting returns and increasing customers on an otherwise quiet night. Punters will talk with friends and relatives about the night whether good or bad. Make customers life easier and give them only positive things to chat about from your pub quiz night.

Below are some valuable quiz tips that will help you get the customers hopefully with their friends and family coming back.

1. Work out the best types of questions. To start with get some quality general knowledge resources behind you or purchase pub quizzes that your quiz goers have the ability to answer. Not only will this keep the interest of your audience but also start them off talking and asking questions from the night in other social gatherings. Knowing the level that the questions and answer need to be in a pub quiz by knowing your audience.

2. See opportunities for the quiz goers to take away something from the night. Hand out sheets are brilliant for this many bring them into the office to see how clever their fellow work mates are. Maybe put some business cards out on the tables and get the quiz master to put a message out at the beginning. Something Like this, ‘If you enjoy tonight please take some business cards and put them in your place of work, the more people the better the night.’

3. Mix it up a bit with question topics. Why not add a couple of different rounds that are solely era, music, actor, film or TV related. Giving variety will give the less general knowledge savvy team mates more of a chance on a topic they may be good at. Keep swapping the topics round each week the last thing you want is sports every week unless it’s a sports bar pub quiz. Be sure when picking a topic that you think the quiz goers will have an interest in it to start with, don’t for example pick the topic of the TV program Emmerdale as it excludes anyone who doesn’t watch it.

4. Plan your pub quiz. Before you start churning out on the night loads of question and answers work out in your own mind how you plan to play it. How long do you want the rounds to last, the break in between, Jokers rounds, What is the specific topic quiz round and what you going to do to entice the punters. Free chips or sandwiches are sometimes a good idea. Don’t spend lots but making people feel they are getting that little extra can make the difference between them going away satisfied or going away talking for days after the pub quiz.

5. Make sure you lay down the rules right at the beginning before you start to run with the pub quiz. Be relatively formal and make sure your quiz goers knows who’s boss. Once you have gone through the rules let the punter get to the bar by giving them five minutes before you start the quiz.

Make it a pub quiz night to remember for all the right reasons. Get people talking and chatting is better than any other advertising around.
